NWI Group has always put quality and customer satisfaction first. This is why in the past year despite the setbacks from the global health pandemic, considerable time, effort and money have been invested in improvements to our quality, capabilities and in the end customer satisfaction. From purchasing better quality calibration equipment to sourcing better quality consumables such as special tolerance thermocouple wire, NWI has focused on improving both our quality of testing but also the efficiency in conducting the calibration.
The last 12 months has seen some considerable improvements in NWI’s accreditation with additions to our capabilities both onsite and in the laboratory, which include not only new calibrations but also improvements in uncertainties to existing ISO/IEC 17025 capabilities. These include:
- Extension to both AC and DC current for calibrating instrument calibrators.
- Improvement to AC and DC high current clamp meters measurement uncertainty.
- Addition of Insulation resistance testers, installation tests and appliance testers up to 10 kV.
- Extension to thermometer calibration from 660°C to 1200°C
- Addition of Base metal thermocouple calibration from -80°C to 1200°C
- Extension to controlled enclosure capabilities from 200°C to 1100°C
- Extension and reduction in best capabilities for both frequency signal sourcing and measurement from 1 MHz to 30 MHz
- Addition of Standard Measures, volumetric glassware.
These additions have come through upgrades to equipment, improvements to procedures and training development which has allowed us to grow and improve the quality at the same time. In addition to these ISO/IEC17025 improvements, in February this year we also obtained ISO9001 quality management certification, which not only includes NWI calibration, but also NWI Fabrication, Sales and Software, encompassing the whole of NWI Group.
Moving forward in the coming financial year we have planned further growth through accreditation, which include the following accreditation improvements.
- Extension to humidity measuring instruments from 10%rh – 95%rh at 23°C to being able to calibrate across the temperature range of 0°C to 60°C. In addition to this extension we will be reducing our uncertainties.
- Decrease in thermocouple simulation CMC (Calibration measurement capability)
- Decrease in thermometer calibration CMC.
- Addition of pressure instruments for both in laboratory and onsite capabilities.
- Addition of onsite thermometer calibration.
In addition to the above plans, we will be adding our WA office to our corporate accreditation with the initial capabilities of medical refrigeration, controlled enclosures, environmental chambers (both temperature and humidity), precision weighing equipment and industrial weighing equipment. These improvements will greatly improve the quality of service provided in the WA and NT area.
