Power Supplies
POWER SUPPLIES
Hazardous area power supplies are critical components in industrial settings where explosive gases, vapors, or dust particles may be present. These environments require special precautions to ensure safety and avoid the risk of fire or explosion. Therefore, hazardous area power supplies must be designed and manufactured to meet strict safety standards and certifications.
The two most common hazardous area classifications are the ATEX directive in Europe and the NEC in North America. ATEX stands for “ATmosphere EXplosible,” while NEC stands for “National Electrical Code.” Both standards provide guidelines for the design and installation of electrical equipment in hazardous locations.
